Users are unable to flash Gingerbread ROMs to Samsung devices (e.g. a GT-P1000) using heimdall-frontend because partition entries for the --hidden (hidden.rfs) and --movinand (movinand.mst) CLI options cannot be added via the GUI. Tested with heimdall-frontend v1.3.2 on both Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric and 12.04 Precise. |

Sorry, this doesn't quite make sense to me. The Frontend should be able to flash all partitions the device has. Perhaps the PIT file you're using is incorrect. Just in case, I recommend you download the PIT file from your device using the utilities tab. Then load up the downloaded PIT file from the Flash tab. All partitions your device supports should be listed. Unless there is a bug in the Frontend that I'm unaware of, Heimdall Frontend will list the exact same partitions that Heimdall CLI is able to flash. |

Hmm, I see your point. I did not flash using my own PIT, I was using gt-p1000_mr.pit from the Overcome GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip files. If I cat the file, I see both HIDDEN and MOVINAND mentioned. I unfortunately still lack the experience to judge whether there is something wrong with this PIT file. I could understand any unwillingness on your side to debug this, since the problem could be completely unrelated to heimdall(-frontend). My original PIT is overwritten now, and I shamefully admit that I did not do a backup. So I cannot test it anymore. But I repartitioned using the abovementioned gt-p1000_mr.pit, pushing hidden.rfs and movinand.mst, all done successfully on the command line. |

In addition to existing ability to flash partitions with their partition identifier, Heimdall 1.4 adds the ability to flash partitions by partition name: Download pingplotter pro v3.20p cracked invisible rare. --HIDDEN As such I believe this issue is fixed. Let me know if you have any problems. |

Hi, I think this issue still exist in the latest(1.4.0) version of heimdall. I can successfully flash HIDDEN partition using CLI heimdall, but it will be much comfortable if GUI heimdall can properly do it, too. The particular PIT file for testing: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9zYXbnQ2afEVEFPclRUU1VqNFE/preview |

Project M Pit Guide
Hi, I can confirm this issue. My pit file (extracted by heimdall) shows a HIDDEN partition but I'm not able to choose it in heimdall frontend for flashing. Same for MOVINAND (which I don't need). Also, Partition 'IBL+PBL' shows up twice in the drop down but only once in the pit. I can even assign two different bin-files for 'IBL+PBL' this way. May this be related? |
I spent the past several hours reading and reading. What program to use for internet radio. I tried to upgrade this Tablet to Jellybean, now the Tablet only reaches the Samsung glowing screen.
I tried several fixes to no avail, my first hurdle is I have no idea what Product code to place in to get the firmware from Sammobile as I dont know where this tablet originated from, possibly England. I also followed a tutorial on how to restore back to gingerbread 2.3.3 which gave me the same result; I think I have to go back to Froyo 2.2.
So I followed the tutorial from the answer on Restoring original 2.2 firmware on Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000L.
Again no luck, I think I need to restore everything. As I'm a noob maybe someone can point me the right direction? Also in the above tutorial I downloaded some PIT files, and I have no idea which one to use. Picking the correct firmware from Sammobile and PIT should reverse everything as I did load a modem file in the first place.

I've originally asked this question on stackoverflow, and I was suggested to ask it here.
I'm currently in trouble with my samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000L GSM+WiFi model from Brazilian's Vivo carrier.
The problem was: Whenever I try to open most apps (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others -- but not all) the Tablet would vibrace once, then twice, then display an error message saying that the 'application stopped suddenly' and I'd have to try again. Hack game coin dozer cho android.
I've noticed that there were a bunch of apps installed and I deleted them all. After reboot, they came back. If I install any new apps, they would work (even Facebook), but after reset, they were all wiped out and replaced with the previous versions (like it was restoring an old 'backup' of the system with those apps installed).
I've managed to use adb to see the filesystem and deleted the contents of '/sdcard' which was mounted like:
/sdcard was a symlink to /mnt/sdcard. Note that there was no sdcard on the device. When one was put, a directory 'external_sd' was created inside /mnt/sdcard and the contents of the disc would be there.
I've tried to manually delete everything inside /mnt/sdcard but it all came back upon reboot. (Note: I don't have root access to the device.)
I've managed to mess things up for good when I tried the command ./fastboot erase recovery
. Now the main interface keeps 'rebooting' -- it displays the carrier name, then the lock screen, then vibrates once, then twice, then carrier name again..
It is running android 2.2 and I'm trying to prep it to give it away (my wife is trading it for an iPad), so, I'm trying to restore everything back to where it was when I purchased it. I can't seem to find a firmware file to download (other than Cyanogen).
Samsung's Kies app (I'm using a Mac) can't seem to detect the device (with USB debugging mode off, it doesnt even try. When on, it says that it can't recognize the device).
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Download the firmware from: http://hotfile.com/dl/146491093/3b7d6c9/P1000LVIJR2_P1000LZVVJR3_ZVV.zip.html or www.sammobile.com
After that follow this 'how to' to install the new firmware:
Make Preparation before flashing:
- Back-up all important data stored in your device (this is important to keep all your data in safe, if something went wrong)
- Ensure that the battery is fully charge (power lose may interupt the process and might brick the device in no time)
- Galaxy Tab USB cable wire – a good conditioned USB wire.
- A PC/laptop with working USB port that runs in Windows OS, this will not work on Mac users)
- Install Kies on your PC just to get the driver of the TAb, or grab the driver.
- Disable any antivirus program, and also Kies if you have it installed.
Download tools and stock ROM:
Odin Downloader with pit and Driver for Galaxy Tab Stock ROMs:
Choose the right P1000XWJQ8 stock Firmware according to your country or carrier providers. The build number is the same on each packages but varies with different CSC file on each specific countries, so you should choose the right firmware for your device to avoid any functionality issues. These stock ROM’s can be found in at sammobile.
Odin Flashing Procedure
1) Once you downloaded the right stock firmware for you device, extract it using winrar, 7zip or any other program to have the single .tar.md5 file.
2) Run Odin on your desktop.
3) Check the PDA checkbox and tick the PDA button and then load the extracted P1000XWJQ8_P1000XXJPZ_P1000DBTJQ1_HOME.tar.md5. (No pit repartition necessary if you have your device runs in original firmware) (Pit file is only needed for advacne users who installed their device with any custom ROMs and getting an error flashing official firmware. Grab the Pit file here, if you needed it)
4) Ensure that the “REPARTION” checkbox mark empty, just only the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time remains to be checked.
5) Set the Galaxy Tab into download mode – Turn it Off first then gently Press and Hold the Volume Down And Power Button together at the same time.
6) Once the tab displays in download mode screen, connect the USB cable. Check Odin if the ID:COM turns in yellow color and message say ‘Added!’ (it means that the device is properly connected and already recognized with Odin)
7) Hit the “START” button to begin flashing or installing the firmware. DO NOT TOUCH the phone while in flashing process, just wait until it completely finishes.
8.) A word “PASS” on Odin window will then appear as if the flashing succefully done. Wait until the tablet completly reboots., before removing the USB cable.
Do a factory reset, *2767*3855#
to regain a full fresh firmware installed. Then confirm the newly installed firmware *#1234#
.
That’s it.

link to the original post credits of course to the writer > how to restock p1000 to gingerbread 2.3
btw, this is a complete and full tutorial/step-by-step guide on how to restock gingerbread rom, so if you did not download all requirements, restocking wont be successful
my story and experience : hey guys, yesterday night, i softbricked my galaxy tab p1000 which was running cm9, it turned out like that when i went to recovery and wipe all data, cache, dalvik, even system, and boot. i tried reflashing the cm9.zip but as it was installing its update, my tab suddenly boot into battery icon, meaning it was already empty (maybe, dont have any idea), then, since it was already 12 midnight, there were no internet cafes open in our village, so i went out though somehow it might be dangerous for me, then, i found an internet cafe open. i rent a pc, first, i tried to go to download mode, so some drivers will be installed, but it kept showing 'unkown device recognized' bla bla. still. i didnt lose hope. so i searched on google, and i found this site > http://suzhipackz.blogspot.com/2012/..alaxy-tab.html , when i finished downloading odin, i opened it to check whether it will read my device or not, first three attempts, it did not. so, i thought of downloading samsung kies so the drivers will be installed (safest way really to install samsung drivers), then i still looked for a smaller file (while waiting for kies to complete its download), then i found that there is a smaller zip file for you to install samsung drivers (see attachment below), i installed it, but still odin cant detect my device (try it, might be just on the pc i rented), so i just waited for kies to complete. after a couple of minutes, successfully downloaded kies, and installed it. i tried connecting tab to pc with odin opened, i rebooted to download mode again and reconnect tab to pc, and voila! odin read my device! so, since pc has already detected my device, i just waited about 1 1/2 hours for the rom and the pit file and the db data file.. after almost 2 and half hours of crossing fingers, i have revived my tab and restocked it to gingebread 2.3!
